2026 TEMPLE & FAMILY HISTORY PLAN

1. Youth will have a  goal of quarterly temple excursions to do baptisms of ancestors they find on FamilySearch.

  (“Take a Name” tool) 

2. Work with the bishopric to identify first time recommend holders and those attending temple prep class for Consultants to meet with and teach them FamilySearch skills in finding names for temple ordinances.

3. Host our annual Ancestor’s Potluck with the assistance of Elders Quorum, Relief Society and Activities Committee.

4. Consultants will use the “LASTS” initiative to encourage members to record stories in FamilySearch. ( “L” =  

Listen to a member's story. “A” = Ask if they have recorded it.  “S” = Suggest using FS Memories. “T” = Teach the 

member how to if needed.  “S” = Search with the member for ordinances needing to be done.

5. Members 8 years and up will be encouraged to record their testimonies in FamilySearch. 

6. Encourage or help members who are doing ordinances for individuals to check to see if the entire family has had 

their work done and when using “Ordinances Ready” to review the profile for duplicates and other errors before 

reserving the ordinance.
